Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Yesterday's Auto opened here at 28th and Lyndale South in June of 1983.
What is your primary product or service?
I provide detailed auto appraisals. My specialties are Classic cars, collector cars, sports and exotic cars, muscle cars, Mustangs, Corvettes, street rods and pickups.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I grew up in a "car' environment. My father raced stock cars and midgets in the early fifties and opened a body shop in 1950. This shop went from two employees to twenty five in fifteen years. By the time I was eighteen(1966) I had owned ten cars.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
My appraisals are thoroughly researched and the values derived are backed up with actual sales comparables, not simply a price guide or guess. All of this is tempered with my 47 years in the collectible car business.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
None. All Yesterday's Auto appraisals are done by me personally.
Provide detailed directions to your location
My office is on the corner of 28th Street and Lyndale Ave. South. The main floor, my old showroom, is now Ducati Minneapolis. You will find my office down stairs.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash or personal check.
Which areas do you service?
Classic, collector, muscle, and sports cars and trucks.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Al Hagen
What are your hours of operation?
By appointment only.
