Cyrus Artisan Rugs has been in business for 30 years—since August 1988.
What is your primary product or service?
We sell luxury, handmade designer rugs, but we also provide relevant services such as professional carpet cleaning, repair, and appraisals. Rug rental is also available for home staging, photo shoots, and other commercial advertising applications.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
It was originally a family business that I, Alex Farahan, first started with my older brother, Arya Farahan. We also had help from our father, Iraj Farahan, who also owned a rug store on Fifth Avenue in New York at the time. We are the fifth generation in the handmade rug industry.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We offer a much larger selection of high-end rugs with exclusive brands. Also, we have the largest rug showroom in the Midwest.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are an online business, but we do have a 13,500 sq. ft. showroom located in Bloomington, Minnesota.
